Our Return Philosophy

At Drapes and Drama by Kanika, every product is sourced with care and crafted by skilled artisans. We stand behind the quality and authenticity of our handloom sarees, fabrics, and home décor.

We understand that online shopping sometimes doesn't meet expectations, and we want to make the return process as smooth and fair as possible — while also respecting the nature of handcrafted, artisanal goods where small variations are a mark of authenticity, not a defect.

Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • The return request is raised within 7 days of the delivery date
  • The item is unused, unwashed, and unaltered
  • All original tags, labels, and packaging are intact
  • The item was not purchased during a sale, clearance, or special promotion
  • The reason for return is valid — damaged item, wrong item sent, or a significant quality defect

Minor variations in weave, colour tone, or motif placement are natural characteristics of handloom textiles and do not qualify as defects eligible for return.

How to Initiate a Return

Follow these simple steps to raise a return request:

Email Us

Send an email to kanica.sagi@gmail.com with the subject line: "Return Request – [Your Order Number]"

Provide Details

Include your full name, order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return

Attach Photographs

Share clear photos of the product showing the issue (damage, defect, or wrong item) — this helps us process your request faster

Await Approval

Our team will review your request within 2–3 business days and confirm whether the return is approved

Ship the Item

Once approved, pack the item securely in its original packaging and ship it to our address. Share the tracking details with us after dispatch

Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the refund status within 2 business days.

  • Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 7–10 business days
  • Bank processing times may vary; please allow up to 10 business days for the amount to reflect in your account
  • If you paid via UPI or net banking, the refund will be credited to the same account
  • Cash on Delivery (if applicable) refunds will be processed via bank transfer — please provide your bank details when raising the request

Shipping charges paid at the time of order are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (damaged or wrong item sent).

Exchanges

We currently offer exchanges for the following situations:

  • Wrong item received
  • Damaged or defective item received

We do not offer exchanges for change of mind, colour preference, or size (as most of our products are one-of-a-kind handloom pieces with no identical alternatives). If you wish to exchange, please raise a return request and place a fresh order for the item you'd like.

Damaged or Wrong Items

If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, we sincerely apologise and will make it right promptly.

  • Report the issue within 48 hours of delivery for fastest resolution
  • Email us at kanica.sagi@gmail.com with photos of the item and outer packaging
  • We will arrange a pickup (where available) or reimburse return shipping costs
  • A full refund or replacement will be offered at your preference

Please photograph the sealed package before opening it — this helps resolve courier damage claims much faster.

Order Cancellations

You may cancel your order under the following conditions:

  • Cancellation requests must be made within 24 hours of placing the order
  • Contact us via email or phone immediately with your order number
  • If the order has already been dispatched, cancellation is not possible — please follow the return process once you receive the item
  • Approved cancellation refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days

Shipping Costs for Returns

  • Defective / Wrong item: We will bear the return shipping cost — we'll arrange a pickup or reimburse the courier charge
  • All other returns: Return shipping is to be arranged and paid for by the customer
  • We recommend using a trackable courier service — we are not responsible for items lost in transit during return
  • COD charges, if any, are non-refundable
